SUMMARY:2024 Workshop: Holst - Hymn of Jesus\, Poulenc - Gloria\, Messiaen 
 - O sacrum convivium
DESCRIPTION:We will be performing:\n\nHolst: Hymn of Jesus (set for double
  chorus\, semi-chorus and full orchestra)\n\nPoulenc: Gloria (set for sop
 rano solo\, four part chorus and orchestra)\n\nMessiaen: O sacrum convivi
 um\n\nClick on each piece for rehearsal websites. \n\nWe will go through 
 all these works at the Workshop and will be performing them in Gloucester 
 Cathedral on Friday July 12th 2024 as part of the Cheltenham Music Festiva
 l.\n\nThe Hymn of Jesus Choir 1 will consist of singers south of Stroud\, 
 Choir 2 consists of singers from Stroud\, Stonehouse and north.\n\nAdrian 
 Partington will work us hard\, stretch and challenge us\, and send us home
  tired and happy and musically wiser.\nAll who take part in this Workshop 
 will be offered places in the July 2024 performance.\n\nScore: For Holst
 ’s Hymn of Jesus we will be using the Stainer and Bell score\, for Poule
 nc’s Gloria we will be using the Salabert score. Both of these are avail
 able through Amazon though in very limited quantities according to my rece
 nt viewing. These are the most generally available scores and it is strong
 ly recommended that you use these. There are no bar numbers in either scor
 es\, it is recommended that you write them in.\n\nThe loan scores are bein
 g hired through the national library system. If you are planning to take p
 art in the performance in July you may keep the score that you hire for th
 e Workshop at no extra cost.\n\nPrinted copies of the Messiaen score will
  be handed out at the Workshop at no additional charge.\n\nVenue: The Cryp
